Gymnasts' Code of Conduct

DO
  1. Encourage and support other Bracknell Gymnasts.
  2. Treat everyone (club members, coaches, the public, and gymnasts from other clubs) with respect.
  3. Treat yourself with respect by being clean and healthy for training.
  4. Check the mats are still pushed in after landing – ready for the next gymnast.
  5. Offer to help move equipment.
  6. Listen to coaches and remember to say thank you when a coach catches you or gives you advice.
  7. If something is wrong and you need advice or support always ask your coach.
  8. Behave and wait in line for your go.
  9. Turn up on time for sessions.
  10. Apologise and explain if you are late or are going to miss a session.
  11. Tell someone if anyone makes you feel unhappy.
  12. Tie long hair back.
  13. Make all team members feel welcome.
  14. Make sure you are dressed appropriately for gymnastics and always remember to remove socks and jewellery before performing any gymnastics skills.
  15. Let a coach know when you are leaving the gym for any reason what so ever.
  16. Inform coach if you are unwell or suffering from any injury.
  17. Remain with coaches at the end of a session until collected by their parent or guardian.
  18. Work hard, have fun and enjoy gymnastics.

 

DO NOT
  1. Sit or play on gymnastic equipment prior to the start of any session.
  2. Sit or play on gymnastic equipment during a session when the team/group are not training on it.
  3. Use bad language.
  4. Wear socks or jewellery while performing gymnastics skills.
  5. Be nasty or bully any gymnast, coach or volunteer.
  6. Eat or chew gum during a training session.
  7. Argue or question a coach’s judgment or decisions.
  8. Disrespect anyone.
  9. Smoke, consume alcohol or take banned substances whilst at training or when representing the club at competitions or other events.
  10. Talk to or leave online messages or texts for coaches, official volunteers and officers. Where this is acceptable (i.e. within families & if over 16 years of age), be very careful.

Failure to adhere to this code of conduct could lead to disciplinary action and / or termination of club membership.
