Membership
All gymnasts and parents are welcome to become members of the Club if they wish. However, every gymnast in a competitive team must be a Club member in order to compete and represent the Club.
Club membership costs just £10 for the entire year, and £7.50 for every additional family member. By becoming a member, this entitles you to compete as a part of the club, as well as take part in club social activities. You will receive a membership pack and will have the opportunity to purchase Club clothing and merchandise.
Competitive gymnasts must also affiliate to British Gymnastics, the National governing body. This allows the gymnast to compete at BG recognised competitions. There is a new membership system introduced this year, which is as follows;
BRONZE - £15 (non-competitive
gymnast, club official, club or county judge, helper grade coach)
SILVER - £36 (competitive gymnast, level 1 coach,
regional judge)
GOLD - £72.50 (level 2-5 coach, National/Brevet
judge)
JOINT GOLD - £58.50 (Gold members at the same address)
Therefore, the majority of club members will be required to pay £36.
Annual affiliation fees for British Gymnastics and the club are collected in September. Those who affiliate to British Gymnastics through other clubs (such as through trampolining) do not need to pay this again, but they must pay the £10 club affiliation in order to represent the club and be included in club events.
Part of being in a club is feeling valued and at Bracknell Gym Club, every member is valuable to us. Gymnasts, coaches, parents, volunteers, officials and spectators all have a role to play in striving for our aims. In particular, the club believes in the triangular relationship between coaches, gymnast and parents in developing talent. To this end, parents are encouraged to volunteer where they can to help the club. The club constitution, codes of conduct, policies and procedures are central to achieving effective role clarity and a productive professional relationship for all concerned.
