Congratulations - Junior European Cup Champions!
Well done to the International Team who have won the Junior European Cup.
The team of ten acheived the highest scores in competitions held in the United
Kingdom and Italy. Presentations for this event will take place at the Southern
TeamGym Tournament on 20th/21st February. Congratualations also to Portsmouth
School of Gymnastics who won the girls section. I would like to thank all parents
and gymnasts for their hard work and support with this event. Well done to Annalise
Young, Alexandra Caston, Aoife Acton, Kate Overman, Elizabeth Overman, Daniel
Leitch, Lewis Clothier, Alex Shepherd, Nathaniel Felix and Jack Shilley. Congratulations
on this fantastic achievement.
South East TeamGym Open
Congratulations to all the competitive squads who travelled to Crawley to take
part in this competition in November. We got some fantastic results and had
many good performances from all teams. Congratulations to the Eagles and Falcons
who were awarded gold medals in their sections. The Robins, Hawks and Shooting
Stars all came 4th place in their catagories with some brilliant routines and
outstanding efforts. Well done to all!
Upcoming events
After the Christmas break all competitive squads will be working towards the
Southern TeamGym Championships, held at Bracknell Leisure Centre on 20th &
21st February 2010. This competition is the first major one of the year with
all National Level Teams aiming to acheive the qualification score for National
British Finals. Please will all gymnasts attend every training session as it
is vital the team is complete to perfect runs and floor routines. Gymnasts who
regularly miss training may be compromising their place on the team. There will
be training in February Half-term as the competition falls on the Saturday.
Training times will be as normal as if this was a normal term time week.
Other Infomation
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to use the fire exit door as an entrance
/ exit to the 3m hall. This has now been alarmed and can only be used in emergencies.
If you need a club tracksuit please can you speak to Mo Davies. All competitive
gymnasts will need one for the Southern TeamGym Tournament which is being held
in February. We have had problems with these recently and we do apologise for
any problems caused.
Extra training
As you aware, we are exlcuded from Bracknell Leisure Centre the entire week
before the Crawley competition. It is not ideal to go into a competition after
a week off training so there will be training sessions held at Pinewood Gym
Club during this week. Some days and times are different to normal but this
is the best we can offer. The schedule can be seen here.
As the last sessions before a competition, it is vital everybody attends
all these sessions. If you cannot attend you must let your coach know
ASAP as this could jeopardise your place in trampette or tumble runs.
We do ask for a small donation of £5 per gymnast. This payment will go
towards the hiring of the facility and will cover both sessions.
Need a physio?
Injury? Old aches and pains flaring up? Contact our club physio Charlotte Brady Bsc. Please see here for more information and contact details.
Christmas Disco!
From Monday 16th November, tickets will be on sale for the Club Christmas Disco. The party will be held at Edgbarrow Sports Centre on Sunday 20th December from 7-9pm. As last year, tickets are £5 to include a drink and snack. All children in development, mini mixed, cheerleading, and competitive squads are invited, along with their parents and siblings. Adult tickets are free. There will be a professional disco DJ, as well as disco lights and a bar open in the hall for adults.

Training
Please can all competitive squad members attend all training in the
build up to competitions. If you cannot attend training please can
you inform your coach. Team Gym is a team sport and when members of the team
don't attend it does have an effect on streaming and floor routines.

any gym gear she will be down in the 3M hall by the recreational spectator area.

Due to this event there has been some cancellation of sessions and rescheduling of others. Emails were sent out 2 weeks ago regarding this. If you are still unsure if your session is running over this weekend (16/17/18 October) please do not hesitate to contact me or your child's coach.
If you would like to purchase tickets for this event please pre order them at a cheaper rate of £7.50. You can purchase tickets from your coach or myself. Tickets are valid for both days of competition so you don't miss out on any exciting action. Tickets may be available on the day, but will be at a higher price and availability is not guarenteed.
Diving
On Sunday 25th October, a diving session is being run for the Club by Central Diving in Reading. This event is a fund raising event open to all adults, children and gymnasts. Click here for more information.
Training
If you cannot attend training please inform your coach asap.
Team Gym is a team sport and when members of the team do not attend it does
have an effect on streaming and the learning of floor routines. Recently we
have found ourselves having to go through routines over and over again due to
performers missing which results in lack of progress for everyone. May Ialso
remind Squad parents that there is no spectator area for you
to watch your child. I do apologise for this but I feel that the space and environment
for your child's learning is more important. If you wish to remain in the centre,
please use the space in the cafe to wait.
Forms and Fees
May I remind you that the club needs in all Memberships forms and
squad contracts ASAP. We need to start entering teams into competitions
and re affiliating your membership and insurance to British Gymnastics. Some
of these have still not be returned!
Jongleurs Comedy Evening Friday 30th October 7:00 pm
