If you collect these can you please pass on all vouchers to your child's coach so we can do the same this year.
Italy Training Camp
I am planning on running some fundraising events specifically to help pay for the Italy training camp. I know there are some gymnasts desperate to go but unfortunately cannot afford this trip. I am planning on organising some bag packing, a sponsored event and other events to help raise money.
If anyone is interested in taking part or interested in helping then please contact me at mo@starskill.co.uk. You can alternatively come and see me at the sports centre. I am in on Tues, wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday's. I need to know who is interested by Friday the 11Th of March.

Focus in training session this month will be on all elements for the upcoming competition. Can you please make sure that your child attends all sessions and please inform your coach if you cannot make one? Attendance of gymnasts for floor routines and apparatus runs is very important.
There will be training over the Easter holidays for all gymnasts.

The first collection is 28th January and the next one will be May 27th. Mo has some bags left over from the last collection if you need one, or you can just use any bags you have.
If you bring them in the week leading up to the 28th of January that would
be great.

December Newsletter
We have come to the end of term once again and are all getting ready for the
Christmas season. I want to thank you all for your continual support over the
last few months at training, fund raising events and competitions. Thank you!
Training
The Gym Club breaks up for Christmas on Saturday 18th
December and starts back on Tuesday 4th January.
Next term we will be working towards the Southern Team Gym Tournament which
is being held at Bracknell Leisure Centre on the 27th
and 28th March. This is the clubs biggest competition with all our squads
competiting over the weekend. All National Teams will be battling it out to
gain the qualification score for the British Team Gym Finals.
I will be running a workshop day for Floor on Sunday 16th

the competitive Team Gym Squads please keep this day free as this will involve
you. I will send out a schedule over the Christmas holidays when all times are
confirmed. Each team will have a one hour workshop slot with Lisa.
Rumours
Is Bracknell Gymnastics Club Moving?
Rumours have been circulating about the club moving to a new location. It's seems everyone from the leisure centre staff to the recreational children have all heard something. This rumour has even been discussed at other local clubs!
We would like to set the record straight...
The board of directors have been looking to relocate the club to a dedicated
venue for over two years now. The reasoning for this is best described here
as a need to grow and develop the charitable aims of the club. Therefore, investigating
prospective sites and making proposals is nothing new. We have come close to
finding a site a number of times but these have all fallen through. However,
we can report that our investigations have currently progressed to the planning
stage related to a viable site. We have had our hopes raised before, only to
hit barriers that are largely political, but nonetheless quite tangible. Therefore,
we are understandable guarded about confirming details.
I can confirm that we will be fully operational at Bracknell Leisure Centre
next term as usual. If and when we secure a site and date to move, the parents
and the leisure centre will be notified promptly. To do anything less would
be foolhardy. Furthermore, at that time we would give more details and consultations
relating to fees, payment options, logistics and added benefits.
We are sorry we can not give the whole picture, but please understand that the picture changes weekly. We will report more when we have concrete facts to share.
As always, your patience and support is much appreciated.
Dr Peter Tranckle
On behalf of the Bracknell Gymnastics Club - Board of Directors.
Fundraising
On Monday 20th December at 4pm Bracknell Gym Club
is holding a bowling event at the Hollywood Bowl complex in Bracknell. If anyone
would like to attend please contact Mo Davies for more information. All are

That just leaves me to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from
myself and all the staff at Bracknell Gymnastics Club.
Second-hand leotard sale
There will be leotards for sale in the gym from Monday 13th December - Saturday 18th December. If any parents have leotards they wish to sell, please bring them in labelled with a contact name and number, and the amount you would like. You will receive 2/3 of the price, and the club retains 1/3 - please make your price divisible by three if possible! Please leave your leotard with Mo, or with a coach to pass on.

Congratulations to the Twisters Cheer Team who competed In November for the 2nd time ever becoming the BCA Southern Youth level 3 Champions 2010.

Junior European Championships
Bracknell Gymnastics Club made their debute at the 8th European TeamGym Championships in Sweden last week. The event was the largest of it's kind to date, with teams from across Europe competing in men's, women's and mixed competition, in both junior (13-17 years) and senior competition (15+ years). Brackell were selected to represent Great Britain back in May and have been training hard with their coaches Stuart Woods and Claire Williams. In Sweden, the Bracknell team of 4 boys and 5 girls (including a reserve), competed on floor, tumble and trampet to a packed arena. The team gave their best performance to date and despite being the youngest team (13-15 years), performed with distinction to place 4th in Europe.
Congratulations to all the gymnasts and coaches!

September 2010
As you are well aware, the club is having a change around of teams after the
Summer Term. This has to happen due to the new code of points coming out and
the different ages of competition level. The new teams will be announced after
the British informing you of any change to training times that might occur for
your child. These teams are currently going under selection looking at gymnasts
attendance, work ethic and attitude towards training. These teams are being
selected so each gymnast can perform at their best ability and reach their maxium
potential. If any of you are sadly leaving us after the summer term can you
please inform me ASAP due to the organisation of teams and the plans we are
making for your child.
Training and attendance
Gymnasts will now be training hard for the British Championships and the Summer
Gala. Please can you ensure that you attend all training session as non attendance
is having a huge effect on your child and the squad they are in. If you cannot
make a session can you please let your coach know in advance so an alternative
plan can be constructed. If bad attendance continues to happen we will sadly
have to remove your child from the squad they are in.
TRACKSUITS
After experiencing some problems with the tracksuits, we now have a new supplier. All squad members require tracksuits for competitions. If you do not have one and wish to order one, please carefully check the size you require and pass the order form to your coach asap.
Easter training camp
The Easter camp was a great success. Fabulous weather meant we could spend time outside on the field and running track, as well as the occasional picnic! All gymnasts enjoyed the experience, and worked hard developing their gymnastics skills and techniques. Photos will be coming very soon in the Gallery, and please watch this space for details of a possible Summer camp!
March Newsletter
This newsletter is more of an information letter regarding all the events that
we have coming up in the near future. Please take your time to read through
this so you are aware of all the clubs activities.
Fund raising Events
The club is collecting all the Sports Vouchers from Tesco's and Sainsbury's.
Next time you are shopping please collect these for the club and hand them into
your coach. The more vouchers you collect the more equipment we can purchase
for your child's development in gymnastics.
The Easter Egg Tombola is running again starting from Monday 22nd March. This
is also a good time to speak to Mo about the purchasing of club clothing such
as T shirts, Hoodies and Bags. I would like to say a big thank you for all your
chocolate donations.
Team Gym Camp
As you aware the club is running a Team Gym Camp which is open to the South
Region. This event is being run on the 7th, 8th and 9th April at our Gym. If
you would like to book a place for your child then please print off the form
and hand to me ASAP.
Easter Training
Training will run for all Development and Competitive Squads throughout the
Easter break. Training will run at normal times in the 3m Hall. Please puchase
an activity ticket at reception and hand to your coach at the start of your
session.
British Finals
Congratulations once again to the Robins, Eagles and Falcons who all qualified
for the British Finals in May. Can I please have all your competition entry
fees in as i have hardly received any and the deadline was a week ago. As soon
as I know timings for the event i will pass on all information.
Summer Gala
The club has now finalised all the times and details with regards to the Summer
Gala. This event will run over a whole weekend and will involve everyone in
the club. You will need to inform your coach asap if you cannot attend this
event as the construction of routines has already begun.
Friday 25th June Full Dress Rehearsal 4pm - 7pm
Saturday 26th June Evening Performance at 7pm
Sunday 27th June Afternoon Show at 2pm and Show at 5.30pm
Each Performance will last about 90 minutes.
I have deliberately informed you of times and dates in advance so you can invite

The Gala will run in the Main Hall this year as the 3m hall is too small. After
Easter all information with regards to costumes, tickets and routines will be
sent out to you.
Training
I do apologise for ending this newsletter with a moan but I do have to say something
on this matter. Attendance to sessions is becoming very poor and lateness to
sessions is also becoming an issue. When you are late and do not attend you
are having a big impact on your own development but also every other member
in your team. Team Gym is a team sport and needs every member of the team to
participate. If you cannot attend a session then please inform your coach ASAP!
When you don't attend you are holding up your whole teams learning and more
importantly your own.

Congratulations - Junior European Cup Champions!
Well done to the International Team who have won the Junior European Cup.
The team of ten acheived the highest scores in competitions held in the United
Kingdom and Italy. Presentations for this event will take place at the Southern
TeamGym Tournament on 20th/21st February. Congratualations also to Portsmouth
School of Gymnastics who won the girls section. I would like to thank all parents
and gymnasts for their hard work and support with this event. Well done to Annalise
Young, Alexandra Caston, Aoife Acton, Kate Overman, Elizabeth Overman, Daniel
Leitch, Lewis Clothier, Alex Shepherd, Nathaniel Felix and Jack Shilley. Congratulations
on this fantastic achievement.
South East TeamGym Open
Congratulations to all the competitive squads who travelled to Crawley to take
part in this competition in November. We got some fantastic results and had
many good performances from all teams. Congratulations to the Eagles and Falcons
who were awarded gold medals in their sections. The Robins, Hawks and Shooting
Stars all came 4th place in their catagories with some brilliant routines and
outstanding efforts. Well done to all!
Upcoming events
After the Christmas break all competitive squads will be working towards the
Southern TeamGym Championships, held at Bracknell Leisure Centre on 20th &
21st February 2010. This competition is the first major one of the year with
all National Level Teams aiming to acheive the qualification score for National
British Finals. Please will all gymnasts attend every training session as it
is vital the team is complete to perfect runs and floor routines. Gymnasts who
regularly miss training may be compromising their place on the team. There will
be training in February Half-term as the competition falls on the Saturday.
Training times will be as normal as if this was a normal term time week.
Other Infomation
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to use the fire exit door as an entrance
/ exit to the 3m hall. This has now been alarmed and can only be used in emergencies.
If you need a club tracksuit please can you speak to Mo Davies. All competitive
gymnasts will need one for the Southern TeamGym Tournament which is being held
in February. We have had problems with these recently and we do apologise for
any problems caused.
Extra training
As you aware, we are exlcuded from Bracknell Leisure Centre the entire week
before the Crawley competition. It is not ideal to go into a competition after
a week off training so there will be training sessions held at Pinewood Gym
Club during this week. Some days and times are different to normal but this
is the best we can offer. The schedule can be seen here.
As the last sessions before a competition, it is vital everybody attends
all these sessions. If you cannot attend you must let your coach know
ASAP as this could jeopardise your place in trampette or tumble runs.
We do ask for a small donation of £5 per gymnast. This payment will go
towards the hiring of the facility and will cover both sessions.
Need a physio?
Injury? Old aches and pains flaring up? Contact our club physio Charlotte Brady Bsc. Please see here for more information and contact details.
Christmas Disco!
From Monday 16th November, tickets will be on sale for the Club Christmas Disco. The party will be held at Edgbarrow Sports Centre on Sunday 20th December from 7-9pm. As last year, tickets are £5 to include a drink and snack. All children in development, mini mixed, cheerleading, and competitive squads are invited, along with their parents and siblings. Adult tickets are free. There will be a professional disco DJ, as well as disco lights and a bar open in the hall for adults.
If you wish to purchase tickets, please fill in this form and return directly to Jenny Thompson, along with a cheque payable to Bracknell Gymnastics Club. Tickets are sold first come first served so please do not delay! (I am in the gym everyday except Tuesdays!).

Please can all competitive squad members attend all training in the
build up to competitions. If you cannot attend training please can
you inform your coach. Team Gym is a team sport and when members of the team
don't attend it does have an effect on streaming and floor routines.

Due to this event there has been some cancellation of sessions and rescheduling of others. Emails were sent out 2 weeks ago regarding this. If you are still unsure if your session is running over this weekend (16/17/18 October) please do not hesitate to contact me or your child's coach.
If you would like to purchase tickets for this event please pre order them at a cheaper rate of £7.50. You can purchase tickets from your coach or myself. Tickets are valid for both days of competition so you don't miss out on any exciting action. Tickets may be available on the day, but will be at a higher price and availability is not guarenteed.
Diving
On Sunday 25th October, a diving session is being run for the Club by Central Diving in Reading. This event is a fund raising event open to all adults, children and gymnasts. Click here for more information.
Training
If you cannot attend training please inform your coach asap.
Team Gym is a team sport and when members of the team do not attend it does
have an effect on streaming and the learning of floor routines. Recently we
have found ourselves having to go through routines over and over again due to
performers missing which results in lack of progress for everyone. May Ialso
remind Squad parents that there is no spectator area for you
to watch your child. I do apologise for this but I feel that the space and environment
for your child's learning is more important. If you wish to remain in the centre,
please use the space in the cafe to wait.
Forms and Fees
May I remind you that the club needs in all Memberships forms and
squad contracts ASAP. We need to start entering teams into competitions
and re affiliating your membership and insurance to British Gymnastics. Some
of these have still not be returned!
