Parents' Code of Conduct
1. Encourage your child to learn the rules and participate within them.
2. Discourage challenging / arguing with officials.
3. Publically accept the judgements of club coaches, club & competition
officials.
4. Judgements of coaches are open for discussion but ultimately their professional
decisions must be respected and the head coach’s decision is final.
5. Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
6. Set a good example by recognising good sportsmanship and applauding the good
performances of all.
7. Never force your child to take part in sport.
8. Always ensure your child arrives on time, is appropriately dressed for the
activity and has plenty to drink.
9. Keep the club informed if your child is ill or unable to attend sessions.
10. Endeavour to establish good communications with the club, coaches and officials
for the benefit of all.
11. Share any concerns or complaints about any aspect of the club through the
approved channels.
12. Refrain from interrupting the class to speak to the coaches. Please see
coaches before or after sessions so long as it does not interrupt other classes.
Alternatively, make an appointment.
13. Refrain from the public disparagement of the club, coaches or gymnasts.
Concerns and complaints should be made through the proper channels.
14. Use correct and proper language at all times.
15. Never punish or belittle a child for poor performance or making mistakes.
16. Always collect your child promptly at the end of a session.
17. Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
Failure to follow these codes of conduct could lead to cautions, disciplinary action (such as bans) and ultimately the termination of club membership for parents/guardians / gymnasts.
