Recreational Gymnastics

Bracknell Gymnastics Club has been working hard with British Gymnastics to safely return gymnasts to the gym. We have successfully phased in competitive and recreational classes since 27th July 2020 and are now ready to welcome back fun sessions. Please take a few minutes to read this important update for how gymnastics has adapted to the requirements of 2021.

Programme

Fun sessions are currently capped at 10 children per session but we will review this as the lockdown restrictions ease.

Parental Support

For fun sessions we require a responsible adult (18+ years) to be take accompany the child/children. The adult will need to pass through the decontamination process, remove jewellery and footwear and follow the coach’s instructions to help the child engage in the fun session. Any questions please email sacha@bracknellgymnasticsclub.co.uk for options.

Entry and Exit Protocols

Entry and exit will be direct from the car park through the compound behind the car wash. Please be on time to collect young children. Coaches will lead out their groups and supervise for 5 minutes at the end of the session. If parents have not collected on time, they will be led back in through decontamination. Parents may have to then queue up and pass decontamination themselves to collect their children.

Expect to queue at current social distancing spacings as you would to enter a supermarket. Parents can accompany their gymnasts to the door of decontamination where they will be received by their coach. It will not be easy for parents to directly speak to coaches at this time so we would encourage emailing info@bracknellgymnasticsclub.co.uk in the first instance. There also remains the possibility of catching the attention of the club manager or parents can pass through decontamination if it is important.

Anyone and everyone who enters the gym must pass through decontamination and observe the one-way system.

Decontamination Entry Procedure

A member of staff with PPE will be on hand to supervise the decontamination zone and help guide younger children through the process. The club also reserves the right to check temperatures before entry with an infrared thermometer.

Full procedure and policy can be found at www.bracknellgymnasticsclub/membership. After passing the decontamination zone the coach will welcome you to the fun session and show you where to put your drinks bottle. Adults are asked to respect social distancing beyond their immediate bubble.

What You Should Bring

 A drink

A clean pair of socks that have not been worn before entering the gym (for child and adult)

Sliders (this will allow for quick visits to the toilets without having to pass back through the decontamination route).

Toilet Trips

The club now separated from the rest of the leisure centre and have exclusive access of a unisex bathroom. The bathroom is approximately 10m from the exit door of the 3m hall.  Participants should put on a clean pair of sliders to visit the toilet and return without having to go through the foot baths again.

Refunds

Refunds can only be issued for Fun Sessions when the club has to cancel the session.

Developments

This policy is subject to adjustment in line with current government guidance as a minimum standard.
